Guided by professional instruction, each session is designed to expand your technical repertoire and foster personal expression in glass. Whether you’re developing your portfolio or seeking creative enrichment, this series offers challenge, camaraderie, and the magic of molten glass.

Includes:
Projects: icicles, blown ornaments, candy canes, and snowmen. Small class size of four students
Borosilicate glass
In-studio kiln for annealing of all projects
Use of studio machinery, tools and equipment
Access to Open Torch Rentals. This access is available for an additional fee at an hourly rate and can be arranged after the completion of the Beginner Series.
In-person class sessions — time to meet new people, ask your instructor questions, and get hands on instruction.
Logistics:
Class fee includes glass and annealing in our kiln. All of the tools will be provided for use during the duration of the class. The class format will begin with safety instructions followed by instructor demonstration of projects before students will be able to begin working at their own pace. For longer day-long classes, a 30-minute lunch break will be scheduled into the day. Please arrive 15 minutes before class to check-in.
Additional information
Studio classes are offered year-round at Dickinson Glass Studio and Showroom, located in picturesque Sonoma County. We offer classes in a variety of techniques and for all skill levels in a comfortable setting with small class sizes. We are passionate about glass, serious about play, and dedicated to providing education encompassing an ancient art form.
Our studio is equipped with Glass Torch Technologies (GTT) torches utilizing propane and oxygen, two Paragon kilns, an array of thoughtfully designed hand tools, and an assortment of borosilicate glass.
Owner and craftsman, Michael Dickinson, has been a faculty member at both The Crucible and Bay Area Glass Institute, reaching over 1,000 students ranging in age from 12 to 65+. He has worked with organizations for team-builds including Google, Facebook, Twitter, Square, Salesforce, and has hosted live demonstrations for Nissan, Stanford University, Bay Area Glass Institute, and Maker Faire, Association of Clay and Glass, among other organizations.
