Michael Dickinson, born April 23, 1994, works from his private studio in the heart of Marin at Art Works Downtown where he fabricates primarily hollow form art and sculpture using borosilicate glass flameworking techniques. His current body of work is a collection of time spent sculpting, manipulating, and shaping hollow forms. In this experimental phase of practice, he has developed a range of glass goblets and cups to encompass all forms of celebration and joyfulness. Whether they are champagne flutes, fine cordial glasses, or an everyday goblet, he has enjoyed the process of creating a useful item with purpose in an elegant way. Precious metals are still at the forefront of his work as he incorporate gold and silver fume implosions and vortexes in spheres that reveal themselves as iridescent petals or blooms within the glass.
